Telangana Muslims Joint Action Committee were seen in a jubilant mood celebrating the Telangana Statehood. The celebrations are seen as a precursor to the grand reception planned for K.Chandrashekhar Rao, Senior Telangana protagonist and Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) leader on his maiden visit to Hyderabad after the Telangana Bill was approved in the Parliament earlier this month.

The government has announced the bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh leading to the formation of Telangana as the 29th state of India. Andhra Pradesh witnessed a dramatic sequence of events and political unrest to conceive a state 60 years after the first spark of Telangana protests. Several students and Telangana supporters sacrificed their lives in perennial protests. KCR paid tribute to the ‘martyrs’ of Telangana on his birthday on 17th February in New Delhi.
